Copy-pasting from thread's code to text file

stressful:
I copy-pasted a code from a thread's code 'box' and then put them in a plain text file (notepad). When I compiled it, NASM produced all sorts of syntax errors even when the codes were all correct. I suspect that copy-pasting also copies the hidden formatting to/from the clipboard. I remember doing this many times before but this is the first time I encountered such error. What could be the issue here? Have anybody experienced this before? Thanks. (notepad, win10).
