nasm on an ssd and a hard drive

I'm always leery of having anything of importance on the same drive as the OS.
I am running Linux mint 17.3 Rosa xfce 64-bit.  Dual booting with Windows 7
pro 64-bit. I have NASM on the ssd with Linux.
As paranoid as I am, I decided to put a copy of NASM and all it's related
goodies on a separate HD.
Now if the unexpected happens to Linux, then all I am going to have to do
is replace the OS. At the present time I can reference NASM on the ssd
or the HD. Probably at some future time I will delete NASM from the ssd
and only run it from the HD. Yes, I know I will lose some speed but eventually
I will get another ssd and solve that problem.
This took me all of 5 minutes to do.....
Your thoughts Please.

If something dreadful happened to Nasm, you could easily download it and reinstall. It is your sourcecode you should be worried about protecting, IMO. Perhaps that's what you mean by "related goodies".
