File size / download issues with v2.10
« on: March 16, 2012, 06:36:30 PM »
File size listed in download section on website is 1.0mb for both src and xdoc tar.gz files.

I'm receiving the following error when attempting to gunzip:

gunzip: nasm-2.10-xdoc.tar.gz: not in gzip format

To rule out browser errors I tried downloading with both IE and Firefox.  Same results.

Anyone else having this problem?

After a little sleuthing the files are in actuality .tar files.
It appears the build process skipped the gzip part...

FWIW, the .bz2 versions seem okay. The sizes for the .gz versions seem "plausible". I just downloaded the .gz - source only - and "file" says it's gzipped. Odd.

Best,
Frank

Ok.  Tried it again, but this time from my home machine ( previous attempts were from work ).
No problems.  $ file reports it's a properly compressed tar file.

I'm wondering if the proxy server we go through ( an MS Proxy server ) is automatically decompressing.
It makes no sense it would do that but that box also runs MS ForeFront virus scanner.

Still, that's bizarre behavior...  :o

Yeah, our IT folks are big MS fans but us Devs crank out Linux apps, go figure.

I'll have to investigate further.  Just wanted to make sure it wasn't on Nasm's end of the pipe.
Nobody switched a link on me in the last few hours, right?  ;D
