Ok. Tried it again, but this time from my home machine ( previous attempts were from work ).
No problems. $ file reports it's a properly compressed tar file.
I'm wondering if the proxy server we go through ( an MS Proxy server ) is automatically decompressing.
It makes no sense it would do that but that box also runs MS ForeFront virus scanner.
Still, that's bizarre behavior...
Yeah, our IT folks are big MS fans but us Devs crank out Linux apps, go figure.
I'll have to investigate further. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't on Nasm's end of the pipe.
