I use PSPad,
www.pspad.com/en/
, because IMHO it quite easy to execute a batch file that has been linked to an extension. When wanting to assemble a source code, I press Ctrl-F9 and a batch file does the rest. No need at all to switch between windows.
I have tried Notepad++ because it is more well known, but I couldn't get it to work properly.
