We shall make an operating system with a DOS-compatible environment! :)

If "we" were to make an OS, why in the world would "we" make it compatible with DOS? If you didn't get the memo, DOS is pretty obsolete. Hoping for a "rebirth"? What do you have in mind exactly, timryazthunder?
Best,

I can't imagine anyone would help you with such a project. If you want to play around with an open source DOS operating system, try FreeDOS (http://www.freedos.org/). As for me, I avoid the segmented memory model like the plague.
